The Herbal Industry is an industry that is still evolving and establishing itself. As this industry is still in its infancy stages, we here in WA have the potential to be taking an active part in that
industry.
The choice of herbs to grow is very diverse. Here in WA we have the potential to produce a wide range of herb crops. Our entire state has a wide range of regions, climates
and environments, these all suited to different herbs.
Bogbean Herb Farm has chosen to undertake the role of creating a Herb Growers Network here in WA. In forming a Herb Growing Network, Bogbean Farm aims to unite growers and allow
them to network together to strengthen our herb growing industry here in WA. It is important that growers network together to ensure we are growing a wide range of herbs; there are a certain amount of
herbs already being grown within the state of WA and we do not want to all be growing the same plants.
By working together a wide variety of herbs can be grown and we can create a strong herbal market by combining our skills and expertise.
Herbs will be purchased from the growers, processed here at Bogbean Farm and then sold here in WA or to the eastern states, though there are no limit our markets.
Herbs will be purchased per kilo according to quality and correct identification of your chosen herbs to grow. Minimum amount of herbs purchased is 500g dry weight.
Prices will vary depending on quality and organic status of the herbs grown. Preference will be given to organically grown herbs and especially those certified. Organic herbs will produce a better income,
though they may require more physical labour. The organic market is deemed to be a strong market for the future, if you grow organically, it might be advisable to consider becoming certified.
Future aims are to create a larger processing and drying facility.
